What is the VAG DPF lite?
It's a tool for car owners who want to know more about their vehicle's engine and the DPF (or diesel particulate filter) system. This tool is made to help you view the status of your car's DPF filter and the regeneration phase, and it also shows you the exact time when the filter needs to be cleaned.
It's a free tool for car owners and it works on all models of cars that use an ELM327 adapter. It also works with some models that use other adapters, but this is not guaranteed.

Because the developers want to give you a chance to test the application and help you if you have problems.
